A Look Back at 2007 Trends

Top 10 Industry Trends and Chaé’s Response to Customer Needs

by Linda Chaé

The top 10 industry trends of 2007, according to Skin, Inc. magazine of December, 2007, and Chaé’s response to those trends included an awareness of consumer needs along with research and development of new products based on clean, safe leading edge ingredients:

1. The Millennium Generation – spa goers in their ‘tweens and teens are becoming a substantial market for spas and salons.

Chaé’s clinically tested AcneTx™ Treatment system, safe4u™ SPF 15 Sunscreen and the all-new natural organic personal care products (with fun, snappy names and scents) are aimed at the entire family while centering on issues of particular interest to this age group. All the products continue to carry the prestigeous Certified ToxicFree® product seals.

2. Technology drivers in spas and salons are realizing the benefits of software for appointments, accounting, inventory management and even delivery of specific services.

Chaé continues to upgrade and enhance technology-based information delivery. With resources like www.chaeorganics.biz, www.lindachae.org, the new Marketing Associate program and other related tools, Chaé is determined to harness technology for customers, accounts, reps and friends. Currently in development is “back-office” technology where reps and accounts can access the status of their activity and commissions to date.

3. The loving (and living) wellness lifestyle includes eating well, exercising, being balanced and providing treatments and services filled with nutrients, relaxation and total wellness.

Chaé products are all about wellness lifestyle with educational literature on-line and updated collaterals included with each order shipped. The new product lines launched by Chaé in 2007 continue the Company’s mission of providing natural organic and/or wild crafted products safe for the entire family – including babies, children, pregnant women and pets.

4. The ‘Movin’ on Up’ trend involves living in a relaxed state of well-being. Luxury spas and salons from Trump Towers to Canyon Ranch are providing clients relaxing experiences in fabulous surroundings.

Chaé’s new ‘Wild Things’ collection of Wild Orange Shampoo, Wild Thing Shower Gel, Wild Ginger Hand Wash and Wild Butter provide the foundation for luxurious in-home spa treatments perfect for relaxation and total wellness. These continue the overall natural organic skin care product focus the Company is noted for delivering.

5. The demise of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery emerged in 2007 as a significant trend. While face lifts are still alive and well for both men and women, more people are seeking non-surgical alternatives such as Botox, laser hair removal, etc.

Chaé’s anti aging and rejuvenating products like NuAge™ Serum (a firming, tightening daily face lift) along with fabulous seasonal serums support consumer desires for younger-looking skin without surgical or chemical interventions.

6. Sunscreen OUT! 2007 brought controversy to sunscreen products when the FDA announced proposals for major changes in requirements for performance, claims and promotions for all existing and new sunscreens.

Chaé launched the new safe4u™ SPF 15 Sunscreen just as the FDA/Sunscreen controversy broke in August, 2007. In line with its reputation as a trend setter, Chaé already meets the proposed performance / claims requirements. The new luxuriously moisturizing and anti-aging safe4u™ SPF 15 product met and exceeded all the proposed changes from the FDA BEFORE it launched. So moisturizing and sheer it resembles an elegant, high-end serum, safe4u™ SPF 15 also provides incredible protection from UVA and UVB rays for the entire family.

7. Up with eco – sustainable, organic ingredients are in demand worldwide. Green designs, environmentally friendly solutions and recyclability are in vogue every where you look.

Chaé’s historic requirement for organic and/or wild crafted ingredients has made them a leader in providing natural, sustainable products. Chaé’s world wide sourcing of innovative nutraceutical and cosmeceutical-grade raw materials supports small, green producers. Chaé Organics was the first “green” natural skin care company to set new trends in Hollywood at the Emmy Awards Gift Suites.

8. Bionic spas are emerging with services that include LEDs, lasers and micro-currents to help spas and salons deliver deeper, longer-lasting results and options.

Chaé has been partnering with providers, inventors and innovators of technology with their clinical strength professional and Thera-P™ products. Field trials have demonstrated exceptional product efficacy and client results when combined with technology. Several clinical trials have been successfully completed in 2006 and 2007 with Chaé’s organic pet Pain & Wound Care products and a programmable, cold-pulse laser.

9.Planet spa – with a ticket in hand, any spa or salon in the world can be your destination! And more consumers are taking advantage of those luxurious treatment centers.

Not only is Chaé available in an exclusive list of spas, we have given today’s customers the opportunity to make worldly beauty / spa treatments a part of their everyday routine with natural organic skin care regimes from Chaé – including Normal/Dry Skin Care, Normal/Oily Skin Care or Mature Skin Care. Our customers now add rejuvenating, cleansing and stimulating salt scrubs to a weekly pampering, as well as daily indulgence with satiny, smooth moisturizing body butters and other luxurious personal care products for an over-the-top feeling!

10.Giving back is becoming an important trend in the industry. From product companies supporting cancer research to retail outlets sponsoring community-based causes, the trend is becoming mainstream action.

Chaé has always had a commitment to formulating clean, safe products that are healthy for people who suffer from chronic illnesses. In the past several months, Chaé has supported animal victims of the 2007 California Wildfires, provided products for endometriosis victims and developed safe, ToxicFree® cleaning products for allergy sufferers. We are proud of our customers, accounts, representatives, families and staff who are volunteering and engaging in these activities and many others.

Make Chaé Organics your stop for natural, organic products . . . for your entire family. . .in 2008!
